What is Freezing Fog? During November through February, Pendleton is inundated with days (sometimes weeks) of this kind of Fog due to a combination of low clouds trapped in the foothills of the aforementioned Blue Mountains and a strong temperature inversion (temperature increasing with height) that can freeze to any surface on contact, if the temperature is at or below freezing. Sometimes this low cloud deck can persist at all locations below 3000 feet all the way to the Cascades (200 miles west of Pendleton). This can become quite wearisome, having to drive to the mountains to see the sun.
So, that was my first post... hope you enjoy. Happy George Washington's Birthday. God bless you.

Memphis Gracer
i greatly look forward to reading what you have to say about whatever you are going to say about. yeah.
Welcome to the addicting world of blogging. Pendleton looks...nice, despite the freezing fog (of which I have already been educated about when you stayed with us in GA)
Talk to you later
Very cool place you live, there! Freezing fog, huh? Now I can go show off to my co-workers who think highly of their meteorological skills. God bless, from Memphis.
Halloa, Master Meteorologist,
I could have used your sage counsel last semester in my Weather and Climate class. Freezing fog-what an amazing thing to contemplate, and I expect, see.
It is an immense honor to see comments from those of GCPB and others as well.
Freezing fog is indeed something of a paradox... something for which I have grown disdain and fascination in its periodicity, onset, and ice formations on the ground/trees. Though, Driving can be quite hazardous if a thin layer of ice develops due to contact with the road.
To forty-one...are you planning to save the emperor's counsel or continuing to serve this ship despite being unchained? "Row well and live."
To gonefishin...there are some PBs around the area of Washington and Oregon. The church I currently attend is Yakima River PB (Milton-Freewater, OR) which meets on 2nd and 3rd Sundays.
