The First Post

This being my first post, I thought it prudent to post a few pictures from the area I currently live. Moving from Texas to a small town in the PR of Oregon was indeed disconcerting at first. However, this is the Lord's will, and I have faith that he will never leave, nor forsake me. So, from Pendleton, OR, here are a few things you might see if you visit this small city.

What is Freezing Fog? During November through February, Pendleton is inundated with days (sometimes weeks) of this kind of Fog due to a combination of low clouds trapped in the foothills of the aforementioned Blue Mountains and a strong temperature inversion (temperature increasing with height) that can freeze to any surface on contact, if the temperature is at or below freezing. Sometimes this low cloud deck can persist at all locations below 3000 feet all the way to the Cascades (200 miles west of Pendleton). This can become quite wearisome, having to drive to the mountains to see the sun.
